I love having the goal of $40 a week for groceries.  It seems to me that having a number per week is better to keep track of then by month.  That is something I learned during this last year that budgeting per month is difficult because the weeks aren&#039;t exactly the same.   I agree about being flexible for the entire month, especially when there are double or triple coupons!   Like this week coming back from vacation and getting back into the grove I need to buy some basics so my trip to Bottom Dollar Food will be about $30/$40.</description>

Thanks for sharing your $40 per week grocery budget goal.
I try to keep it around the $40 mark as well (but am flexible from week-to-week...I try to keep it around $160 for the entire month). Many of my non-couponing friends think I am absolutely crazy for setting such a low food budget for a family of 3, but it is do-able, even here in the DC Metro!
