This is week 3 on creating a meal plan for the week. Yesterday being a holiday has been nice.  It will make this week a little bit shorter.  Yesterday we worked a lot around the house cleaning like crazy.

Now that meal planning is becoming part of our life.  I’m now looking carefully at our meal choices and trying to include more and more vegetables.

Tuesday:  Lunch PB&J and bananas Dinner: Gnoche (freezer meal from trader joes) and Kale (chips or something else)

Wednesday:  Lunch Hotdogs Dinner: Potstickers and Corn

Thursday: Lunch Pasta Os (from Aldi $.64 a can)  and Black Beans (from Aldi $.64 a can)  Super yummy! Dinner: Frozen Pizza from Aldi and Green Beans

Friday: Lunch Fastfood? Dinner: Gumbo w/muscles

Saturday:  Lunch Free for all – leftovers  Dinner: Spaghetti Squash

Sunday: Lunch  Free for all Dinner: Special Chicken dinner (finding a recipe for it now)

What’s for dinner at your house tonight?  I’d love some ideas for our Sunday night dinner.  Any thoughts?

Meal Planning 1/9/2012

Last week’s meal plan was a success!  It sure made the week planning easier.  I didn’t have to think about dinner since I knew exactly what I was going to make.   Now to repeat it again this week.  When we made something with enough leftovers we would have for lunch or dinner the  next day.

Monday: Lunch Soup  Dinner: Minestrone Soup with leftover meat from Taco night

Tuesday:  Lunch PB&J Dinner: Tacos again since we have all of the ingredients.  Soft taco shells are only $.99 at Aldi.

Wednesday:  Lunch Hotdogs Dinner:  Hotdogs with Chili

Thursday: Lunch Pasta Os (from Aldi $.64 a can)  and Black Beans (from Aldi $.64 a can)  Super yummy! Dinner: Frozen Pizza from Aldi

Friday: Lunch Fastfood? DinnerIndian Butter chicken Crockpot from Stephanie O’Dea’s cookbook.  I need to purchase the garam masala.  Thanks to Stephanie’s pictures of her ingredients I now know what to look for.

Saturday:  Lunch Free for all – leftovers  Dinner: Spaghetti Squash

Sunday: Lunch Free for all  Dinner: Free for all

Meal Planning 1/2/2012

It has been years since I wrote up a formal meal plan.  With the twins being born last spring we were in survival mode whatever we could get our hands on for dinner was dinner.   Sometimes it was frozen pizza, left overs, or cereal.     Now that the boys are eating a lot more baby food and table food it is time to get back on the meal planning bandwagon.

Monday: Lunch Shrimp Pasta Dinner: Cowboy Super

Tuesday:  Lunch PB&J Dinner: Shrimp Pasta left overs

Wednesday:  Lunch Tuna Lorenzo Dinner:  Tacos

Thursday: Lunch Pasta Os (from Aldi $.64 a can)  and Black Beans (from Aldi $.64 a can)  Super yummy! Dinner: Cowboy Super left overs – I will be attending my FCMOM meeting.

Friday: Lunch Fastfood? Dinner:  Dinner out – Might be going out for dinner for my Mom’s Birthday so might switch this with Saturday’s dinner

Saturday:  Lunch hotdogs Dinner: Lobster rollfrom  Dining with the Dollar Diva: Divalicious Recipes with Ingredients Costing a Dollar or Less

Sunday: Lunch hotdogs or something simple Dinner: Minestrone Soup with leftover meat from Taco night

Menu Planning

Organizing Junkie

I’ve been thinking more and more about my goals for this year, besides 2010 Financial Challenge goals there are several organizational goals I would like to achieve.

One of them is to start menu planning!   I’ve been reading about Monday Menu planning from so many bloggers that lead me to – I’m an Organizing Junkie.

I know it is late in the week but we have a big snow storm coming to the Washington D.C. area so I thought I need to meal plan for this weekend and it is a perfect excuse to start meal planning.  Here it goes:

Thursday: Lunch:  Leftover Soup & Potato Fries  Dinner:  Papa John’s Pizza  (Hubby asked for a treat!)

Friday: Lunch: Trader’s Joe’s French Onion Soup and Leftover Soup  Dinner: Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan and Homemade Bread in Bread Machine

Saturday: LunchTuna Sandwiches Dinner: Spinach Pie

Sunday: Lunch: Frozen Pizza  Dinner: Bean Dip or Salsa with Homemade Bread in Bread Machine;  Meatballs from freezer in Slow Cooker

Monday: Lunch:  Left over Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan  Dinner: Baked Teriyaki Chicken

This weekend I will start planning for next week and re-post it on Monday.
