Virginia and other states – Sales Tax Free School Supplies in August 2010
I'm a huge fan of the Virginia Sales Tax Holiday in our area in Northern Virginia that is a 5% discount. I'll take that! This year it is 08/6/10-08/08/10. For Virginia: Sales of the following items are exempt from sales or use tax during the sales tax holiday period: • Each article of clothing or footwear with a selling price of $100 or less per article; and • Each school supply item with a selling price of $20 or less per item.
