Dollar Tree: $1 Finds for Housekeeping and All Made in the USA!

This week I ventured out with all 3 kids to the Dollar Tree, PetSmart and then Aldi for some grocery shopping.  The kids were wonderful!  I was hoping to do everything before lunch time but it was cutting it close.  I had to take a break for snacks and then again on our way home before we did lunch.    Next time, I promise myself we will leave earlier.  I'm a little fearful when the twins start walking because I'm sure they won't want to stay in the stroller. I went to Dollar Tree to check out some cleaning, organizational products, and pick up some yard sale supplies.  I was excited to find that they had their version of Oxyclean, a liquid Dishwasher soap and a black cleaning bucket.  The best…

Meal Planning 1/2/2012

It has been years since I wrote up a formal meal plan.  With the twins being born last spring we were in survival mode whatever we could get our hands on for dinner was dinner.   Sometimes it was frozen pizza, left overs, or cereal.     Now that the boys are eating a lot more baby food and table food it is time to get back on the meal planning bandwagon. Monday: Lunch Shrimp Pasta Dinner: Cowboy Super Tuesday:  Lunch PB&J Dinner: Shrimp Pasta left overs Wednesday:  Lunch Tuna Lorenzo Dinner:  Tacos Thursday: Lunch Pasta Os (from Aldi $.64 a can)  and Black Beans (from Aldi $.64 a can)  Super yummy! Menu Planning

I've been thinking more and more about my goals for this year, besides 2010 Financial Challenge goals there are several organizational goals I would like to achieve. One of them is to start menu planning!   I've been reading about Monday Menu planning from so many bloggers that lead me to - I'm an Organizing Junkie. I know it is late in the week but we have a big snow storm coming to the Washington D.C. area so I thought I need to meal plan for this weekend and it is a perfect excuse to start meal planning.  Here it goes: Thursday: Lunch:  Leftover Soup & Potato Fries  Dinner:  Papa John's Pizza  (Hubby asked for a treat!) How to make Liquid Foaming Hand Wash?

I'm a huge fan of Dial complete and other liquid foaming hand wash.  For several years I would buy the refills at Walmart.  Now, I look for good deals everywhere I go.   I've tried in the past to make my own but it would come out foaming for a day and then it would stop working.   The best deal I've found to buy it at Aldi I believe it is under $2 last time I was there. Then here is the recipe for refilling your container! 1. Find some gel like liquid soap.  I recommend gel form because it needs to dissolve.  The creme version will not dissolve and the pump will not be able to foam it.  You can get the gel form really cheap!  You could even try…

Shoppers Food Shopping Trip 11/15/09

My plan was to stop at Shoppers to pick up some double deal newspapers.  Unfortunately, they didn't have any.  I then picked up an extra Washington Post for $1.50.  I was hoping they would be on discount but apparently they don't discount them anymore. Since I was there and I had my $15 worth of catalina coupons from my previous trip with me and I thought I would get some basics for Thanksgiving coming up.  We seem to have plenty of food for the next week or so.  See my post about my husband's Aldi trip HERE. I took the opportunity to look for some good deals without using coupons!  Then I made the decision to spend $15 and get Mr. Tom Turkey too.  Shoppers Marvel Turkeys are $.38 lb…
