Belmont Bay – Occoquan River Communities – 5/2/09

There is no shortage of things to do in Belmont Bay this weekend! Come out and enjoy the spring weather and renew neighborhood ties.

We kick off Saturday, May 2nd with an Adopt a Stream clean up of the community! Meet us at the marina at 9 a.m. to have some fun while making Belmont Bay even more beautiful. The prize categories always keep us guessing right up to the last minute.

The Adopt a Stream clean up is followed by the Belmont Bay site activities for the Occoquan River Festival at the marina pavilion (rain date for Festival is 05/03). There will be something for everyone to enjoy! For the music lovers – bring your lawn chairs and blankets and settle in on a grassy spot by our pavilion to listen to the great country-rock sounds of “Sweetwater”. For the food enthusiasts – Dixie Bones will join us again to offer mouthwatering dishes of ribs, pulled pork and chicken and all the delicious sides to go with it. Osprey’s Landing Restaurant will host a Crab fest, offering sumptuous, large steamed Maryland crabs. For the young and young at heart – we’ll have pony rides, a petting zoo, a moon bounce, festival concessions and for those of all ages that love a thrill – the Acro-Spring, a sensational trampoline/bungee ride one will not soon forget! For the recreational sport fans – we’ll have a “Wet & Wild Wheels Show” featuring Boats, ATVs, Jet skis, and Motorcycles. Osprey’s Landing Golf Course is hosting free Golf Clinics, Pro-Shop discounts and a Golf Putting Contest – free Year Membership at Osprey’s Landing Golf Course to the winner!

In addition, we’ll have various vendors offering all sorts of wonderful goodies, wine tastings from Potomac Point Winery, and 30-minute River Boat Tours hosted by George Mason University. Water taxi and bus service will be available at Belmont Bay for those that wish to visit the other locations that are simultaneously celebrating in this fantastic festival. You can also stay updated on any activities that may be added to the event schedules at the various locations by logging onto www.occoquanrivercommunities.org . We hope to see you there!
