CVS Shopping Trip Plan

Thanks to Thrifty Mama and Hot Coupon World.  These are the deals I tried to get today.  I will list my receipts later.  Have to work on other things now.

Cherry Extra Strength 12 oz. is ringing up $3.65 (do a price check at the scanner)
-$2/1 Printable HERE or coupons from the 1/4 inserts

There is a monthly deal that earns you 3 Extra Bucks when you buy any Mylanta.  Limit 5

=FREE + $1.35 overage after coupons and ECBs.

I didn’t find the $3.65 at my CVS.  It still isn’t a bad deal if you get it for $5.99. I decided I didn’t need it that badly.  I have a lot of antacid right now.

$5.99 + $5.99 = $11.98

-$4/2 from 1/4 insert

OOP $7.98

7.98-3 ECB – 3 ECB = $1.98 for 2 = COST: 0.99 each

Gillette Fusion Gamer, Venus Embrace or Spa Breeze razor 1ct $7.99 EARN 4 ECBs Limit 1
-$4/1 Gillette Fusion Razor from the 2/8PG
=FREE after coupon and ECBs!
(This is the same deal that has gone on for the last few weeks. If you have done it already, I don’t believe you can do it again).

They didn’t have any of the Gamer Fusion at my CVS.  They weren’t sent on the truck per the Manager.  I should have asked for raincheck.  Remember it is the Gamer Fusion!

Garnier Nutrisse or 100% Color $5.99  Ea    rn 2 ECBs Limit 1
-$2/1 Color from the 12/7 RP
=1.99 after coupon and ECBs!

I got one of these.

MQ: $3/1 Garnier 100% Color Vibrant Colors Shade, Any – 11-09-08 RP
ECBs Earned $2
MATH: $5.99 – $3MQ – $2ECB = $.99
(Only works if the “Vibrant Colors” shades are included in sale.)

I got one of these too used my other card.  Only 1 per card. Check the Red scan machine for price before you buy.

Colgate Toothpaste $1.99 BOGO
-$1/1 or .75/1 from the 2/1 S
=FREE or .49 for two after coupons!

I also used the $1.50 Aetna coupon and a $1.00 coupon from the 2/1 SS.

Keebler or Nabisco (Select Varieties 4-5.25 oz) 5/$5
-$2/2 Ritz Wheat Thins or Triscuit  from the 1/25 S
=FREE after coupon!

This was a great deal.  However,  I could only use 3 coupons per transaction.  I had 5 coupons.  The cashier was very nice and took them off the current transaction and then did an extra transaction with my left over 2 coupons.

Thank you for the information. I created a card for my mother in law because she always wants me to get her this deal or that but does not live close to a CVS so this works great because I can use it on other deals I might like also and not use up my limit! Thanks so much.

    • You’re welcome! I’m so glad I was able to help.
I’m new to this myself. I’ve only been doing this for a couple months and I am amazed how many deals are out there. One more thing of advice: “Don’t worry if you don’t get a good deal this week because there will be more deals next week.”

    • Hi Janine,

One other thing to mention, make sure you register your card with CVS by calling the 1-800 number and speak to the customer service rep for the ExtraCare program and tell them you want to make sure you get emails from them and say very nicely that you would like to get coupons too. *Big Smile* You then should get a $4/20 coupon in your inbox in a day or so. More info is on thethriftymama.com.
[I’ve registered my main card but haven’t my other card. Just haven’t had the time.]

Also, I’ve recently been getting some good CRT (Cash Register Tape) coupons from the Red coupon/Price Check machine! I got several $2/10 and a $5/30! Woohoo! Always scan your card before you go shopping.

Everyone is talking about their “other card”. Can you tell me how to get one? There are so many times I would like to buy for my in-laws but the limit is to low.

    Thanks for the help JJ

    • Hi Janine,

Talk to your in-laws about creating a card and helping them out and use it for them. In the beginning I was using my sisters card because she rarely goes to CVS. Now she goes on a regular basis so I don’t use her card anymore so she can get the deals. I use Nana’s card or my mother-in-laws card because they don’t always go. I always give them some of my extra deals. Most of the time I’m trying to get formula and diapers at a good price. Just talk to your family and find out who uses their card and who doesn’t. Besides if you find out someone does use their card you can help each other out by getting good deals.

      Good Luck!
      Holly
