Washington Post – No Red Plum Coupons?!

Well, the truth is out!  "If you don't get it ...you don't get it." Washington post is one of the large newspapers that won't carry the Red Plum coupons anymore. As of February 1st 2009, RedPlum coupon inserts have been discontinued in many newspapers throughout major US cities. Instead of distributing these coupon inserts in the Sunday paper, Valassis has begun mailing the RedPlum coupon inserts to home addresses. For Christmas I asked for the Couponizer.  My dear husband didn't understand that you have to buy it online.  He looked at the bookstores trying to find it.  After Christmas he mentioned that he couldn't find it. Last week, I ordered it and here is my experience with it so far.  It is a very neat system! I opened it up and it came together with a How-To book, scissors, plastic carry bag and the Couponizer book. 1.  I'm impressed at how organized it is.    It has a pocket for the bonus cards.  This makes it so handy! This afternoon I was able to run in with my daughter and buy a jar of Similac formula. I was just reading the CVS ad for 1/11-1-17 - Thanks I heart CVS I noticed that Playtex items are BOGO particularly the Playtex drop-ins.  I also have a coupon for a $1 off Playtex drop-ins (came with the bottles).  Somewhere in my coupons I have a couple of those coupons so I could use two of them.  That might be a good deal.

Ok, I give a big thanks to my wonderful husband, who went with me after work and, for my helpful in-laws for watching the baby. Grandma watches the baby at least once a month since the baby in daycare 4 days a week, I get every other Friday off. Today, she spent the day with Grandma. I told my husband that Kmart was having double coupons and he needed a couple of things at Kmart so we planned to go this evening. It worked out pretty well! A couple coupons didn't scan perfectly. The cashier didn't match them up to the correct item or didn't enter in the correct amount, however, I saved a lot! The cashier, my husband and I were impressed by our savings. Here it goes. The other day I noticed in my mailbox the Bloom filer that mentions on the front that they are going to do Triple coupons! This might do this week. Still trying to decide when and how. This is great! When I got my Sunday paper I read that Kmart is doubling coupons up to $2. That is fantastic. I did some searching and several websites are talking about it. I have only a couple Kmart stores in my area, so I'm not sure if I will get out and do this. However, good for those that can.
