Happy V-Day!

general, Uncategorized
Wishing everyone a wonderful V-day!  I hope you had fun. What did you do on your V-day? My family went to CiCi's pizza for dinner.  We stuffed ourselves and had a great time.  We used the B1G1 coupon in the 1/31 inserts so it cost us less than $10 to eat since the little one got in free! This weekend has been a little crazy. I had several hours yesterday by myself to get things done and I did 7 loads of laundry and today I did 2 loads.  It wasn't until last week that I realized being at home for several days doing 2 loads a day I still was so behind on loads to do.  I mentioned in the past how I do laundry but I have to…

Snow! Snow! and no Internet?

general, Rite Aid, Uncategorized
Thanks to my wonderful husband two years ago deciding we should have a generator.  He put one together and of course during this storm we haven't had to use it. Thank heavens! However to our surprise we lost our cable which is also our internet connection.  I can survive without the television (even though we had TIVO recordings) but without the internet it is shocking to the system!  I have my new fancy cell phone which helped a lot but I was still missing features that I can only get from my laptop and the internet.  Who knew we rely so much on it?  How did we live without it? I'm back and ready to post.  Will be home tomorrow with the little one.  We had over 20 inches of…

Victoria Secret Outlet – Amazing deals – $14.99 bras and $1.50 panties

general, Uncategorized
When my family and I went on vacation a couple weeks ago, we hit a couple outlets including the Prime Outlets in Orlando, Florida so if you live or visit near there I highly recommend going. They currently are offering ALL bras at $14.99 and ALL panties at $1.50 (10 for $15) in addition Sports bras are $9.99 and night wear are all $9.99 each.  I'm not sure how long this is going on at their outlet stores but they had a huge inventory so it seems to me that it would be available for sometime. Good news is for the NOVA area that we will be getting a Victoria Secret outlet soon at Potomac Mills! Here is a list of items I found to be great deals, I admit…

general, Travel, Uncategorized
I'm back!  My family and I went on a week long vacation.  We had a blast and I hoped I would have access to my blog but our mini laptop wasn't working for most of the trip especially using the blog wordpress software.  Thanks to technology I was able to check my email from my phone, but that was about it.  I hoped to write this sooner but when I got home yesterday my laptop had some issues too.  Got to love technology! I have a lot of posts I look forward to write about my family adventure.   I'm back at work this week so I will have to do that obligation first so please be patient as I get back on track. A couple posts I hope to…

It's cold outside! I know, but I want to think about warm weather for a least a minute. It's too cold. Right now I'm thinking about my 2010 goals for the year and one of them is to think about a vacation. We need one!  I'm sure you do too.  Why not add that to your 2010 goals?  Besides what a perfect time to plan, it might make you feel warmer! I found a couple interesting websites that might help you start thinking towards this goal. MyKidsEatfree.com - What a perfect website! I made my own detergent!

general, Uncategorized
You may remember that back in July 2009 I asked -"What do you use to clean your clothes?" In that post, I mentioned how much I really like Fels-Naptha bar soap as a pre-treater and the Duggar family - now "19 kids and counting" - use it to make their own homemade detergent. See the recipe in my earlier post HERE. Back in October 2009, I did just that I made my own laundry detergent. I have plenty and still do of regular Purex, Tide and others that I purchased almost FREE or close to it but this idea of making my own sounded so appealing I had to try it. I prefer detergent without a scent especially for my little girls clothes. I'm amazed at how well this detergent…

How do you calculate your grocery or drugstore savings?

Financial, general, Uncategorized
I'm curious, how do you calculate your grocery or drugstore savings? Do you calculate it based on regular retail prices? Do you calculate it based on sale prices? How do you calculate it using your reward points /bucks/ rewards? I've been trying to figure this out for a while.  We save a lot each year on so many things!  We don't ever buy toothpaste, razors, and other household products just because I can get it FREE or really cheap.   I know I'm saving a lot because of that but how much am I really saving per trip? What formula do you use?  I plan to find a couple formulas and post them here. Source Img:  All You magazine

Happy New Year! and Donations!

Charity, Financial, general, Uncategorized
Happy New Year!  I'm so excited even though the weather today isn't the prettiest it sure is nice to to be home and rest with the family.   Plus we are going to make my version of the Starbucks Ginger Bread Latte!  Cheers! I just wanted to send a quick reminder to everyone that it is Dec 31st, which means you should complete any 2009 donations today!   There are so many charities that need help and even it is a, $1 or $5 it is so appreciated by those that don't have much.   Plus, most charities are tax-deductible which can help with 2009 taxes.  Giving is worth it! Happy New Year! Img Source:  Justin Newitter

Cost = $22.24 Spent $27.98 ECBS,  OOP = $4.26, Earned $10 ECBs I have a couple trips to the store that I haven't had a chance to post just because of the   holidays.  Time sure does fly by!   I had over $20 worth of ECBs that I needed to spend that were to expire so I went to CVS and this is what I got.  I was hoping to make the deal a money maker or close to free as possible but they were out of the Complete Contact Solution $9.99 Get $9.99 ECB, so I came up with this scenario instead.   All of the items I can always use!  I realized before I  checked out that I didn't need the Kleenex to get my total to $28 but I…
