CVS Shopping Trip Plan

Coupons, CVS, Uncategorized
Thanks to Thrifty Mama and Hot Coupon World.  These are the deals I tried to get today.  I will list my receipts later.  Have to work on other things now. Cherry Extra Strength 12 oz. is ringing up $3.65 (do a price check at the scanner) -$2/1 Printable HERE or coupons from the 1/4 inserts There is a monthly deal that earns you 3 Extra Bucks when you buy any Mylanta.  Limit 5 =FREE + $1.35 overage after coupons and ECBs. I didn't find the $3.65 at my CVS.  It still isn't a bad deal if you get it for $5.99. I decided I didn't need it that badly.  I have a lot of antacid right now. $5.99 + $5.99 = $11.98 -$4/2 from 1/4 insert OOP $7.98 7.98-3 ECB…

CVS Shopping Trip 2/4/2009

CVS, Shopping Trips, Uncategorized
I've been away for a while because everyone in my family seems to have gotten sick.  My husband and I got the stomach flu and it was horrible.  I don't wish that on anyone.   Remember to wash your hands all of the time! I went to CVS to pick up a prescription for my daughter.  She has an ear infection.  I got a $25 gift card with a new or transfer prescription coupon that I got at the Red coupon machine from my Nana's card!  I have over $130 in gift cards.  (Because of all of the prescriptions I've had to be on in the last couple of weeks.)  Several of the stores in my area like Safeway, and Giant have coupons in their ad for $25 to $30 gift…

The Couponizer

Coupons, general, Uncategorized
For Christmas I asked for the Couponizer.  My dear husband didn't understand that you have to buy it online.  He looked at the bookstores trying to find it.  After Christmas he mentioned that he couldn't find it. Last week, I ordered it and here is my experience with it so far.  It is a very neat system! I opened it up and it came together with a How-To book, scissors, plastic carry bag and the Couponizer book. 1.  I'm impressed at how organized it is.    It has a pocket for the bonus cards.  This makes it so handy! [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="267" caption="Thanks BeCentsAble"][/caption] 2.  I was able to fill it up with all of the coupons I use.  I still have plastic file folders that I store the Sunday…

Part 1: Car: $200+ SUV! Talk about saving!

Uncategorized, Vehicle
Think about this? How much do you spend on a vehicle? Have you ever thought about how much your transportation costs you per year? Do you calculate the payment + fuel + maintenance? Part 1 I've been reading a lot of blogs recently about how people save money and what they have been doing about their savings for 2009.  I want to share how my husband and I have saved a lot of money.  We own used vehicles. Some of the blogs talk about saving money to buy a new car or update a 10 year+ car.  Which is perfectly fine but I want people to think about it very carefully and realize they can save by buying or repairing a used car. First let me mention a couple of…

Staying Health – Probiotics

Health, Uncategorized
Eat your yogurt and take your Probiotic daily! The Thrifty Mama wrote a post last month about staying healthly during the flu and cold season. Click here for the first post about it. Click here to see her second post. She mentions taking a probiotic on a daily basis and I wanted to learn more about it. Since I've had to go on three different treatments of anti-biotics in the last three months I'm interested in finding ways to stay healthly. I'm now taking a probiotic especially while I'm taking antibiotics. Here is a great article discuss how it really does help. Probiotics May Help People Taking Antibiotics I'm taking a probiotic from Puritan's Pride. I also learned that I'm now allergic to penicillin. It turns out that the body…

I lucked out on this deal!  They had 2 boxes of 100 count Playtex liners left.  A box is $8.99.  I was hoping to buy the 50 count which is $4.99 a box.  I didn't see anything else in the CVS ad that I needed to have and the ECB deals weren't that good.  I had to pick up a prescription and hoped that I could do the Playtex drop-in liners deal.  I found my $1 liner coupons and when I checked out it took a moment for the cashier to get the computer to process the coupon because the computer was still processing the BOGO deal.  It worked thank goodness.  My ECBs were having a problem scanning and luckily the Pharmacist was there who subtracted the ECB from my…

Financial Goals 2009

Financial, Uncategorized
This evening I've been updating my blog.  There is so much to talk about and so little time.  I now realized that it is 11:10PM so I need to finish up and go to bed.  The little one is in bed and I'm sure she will wake up early.  In the mist of updating my blog  I found Money Saving Mommy's blog on 2009 goals Her blog always inspires me to save even more.  I have to admit I'm not as good a saver as other bloggers have been and it really helps to see others who believe like we do. In 2008, we had our wonderful daughter and realized that we had to do better about our finances.  We knew we had to start a 529k and we need…
